Public Outreach


KATIN ENGINEERING CONSULTING has significant public outreach experience in developing and delivering technical topics to the public. We would be pleased to support your needs. Our qualifications that appear most relevant include:

  • Experienced consultant; have over 35 years of training experience in technical fields, certified by State as a Private Postsecondary instructor, and recognized by State as a licensed professional engineer (PE).
  • Awarded multiple contracts by Contra Costa County to conduct public outreach.
  • Contacted 245 different organizations, and approximately 1,600 people on behalf of the County. Prepared PowerPoint presentations and conducted 114 meetings in which 1,347 attendees asked 647 questions that were recorded and answered.
  • Organized questions into seven categories of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and posted this information on the County website.
  • Coordinated logistics for public forums in seven geographic locations. Acted as moderator for seven panel discussions; coordinated booths for public distribution of information. Developed a database to record points of contact for individuals and organizational points of contact.
  • As a result of the Public Outreach, fourteen (14) journalists were contacted, including a Spanish television channel, Channel 48 Telemundo.
  • Made an in-studio taping of a public presentation which we developed and delivered on Contra Costa Television (TV). It was aired 30 times.
  • To ensure that the Spanish speaking population in the County was reached, multiple presentations were made in Spanish. PowerPoint presentations were translated into Spanish, and an interpreter responded to public members who raised questions.
  • Proven ability to oversee team to achieve desired results on time and on budget.
  • Conducted public outreach on CEC Project Non-Petroleum Transportation Survey (Project No 600-05-605) as a result of AB 1007. Defined survey objectives, developed survey, evaluated results, and conducted focus group meetings in Northern and Southern California.
